The dreaded Dip.L.P. ( PEAT 1), call it what you like. Immediately following the LL.b law degree, it is compulsory for those wishing to enter the legal profession in Scotland ,whether as a solicitor or advocate, to undertake the one year, full-time, post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice course.

The fact that it is mandatory means that I am forever telling students to fully appraise themselves about it – one can never have enough information, after all.

The Law Society has published what I think is a very worthwhile article specifically on the subject of the post-graduate Diploma and I would urge you all to have a look .
