I lecture in Legal Studies at New College Lanarkshire and previously was an Associate Lecturer in Scottish Criminal Law at the University of the West of Scotland. I graduated from Strathclyde University Law School in the early 1990s and since then have practised and taught Scots Law.

I chose to enter the legal profession due to my intense dislike of all forms of injustice. I have and always will fight for those who have nobody else to fight for them, but I also enjoy raising and commenting on fairly contentious issues. In truth, I also just enjoy writing articles.

I hope to provide a critical analysis of various issues of the day, including, naturally, legal ones. But I also hope that I will be able to provide a practical perspective on my own teachings for students to digest in their own time. Finally, there will be some general musings on life in general.

Lastly, the ‘legal bit’ – this is MY blog with MY views and they are NOT to be taken, in any way, shape or form as being the views of anyone other than me and certainly nothing should be inferred as being the views or opinions of either NCL (New College Lanarkshire) or UWS (The University of the West of Scotland).

Enjoy and, again, thanks for having a look… is most appreciated.
